Description:
 The Alphawave Semiconductor Systems DSP team in Toronto is composed of a group of highly technical, innovative, and passionate engineers, collaborating to develop the architecture and signal processing algorithms for our world class high-speed SerDes IP. We are looking to dramatically improve the usability, speed, memory footprint and efficiency of our architecture model, including how we regress, develop, and test. This effort will be foundational to the next phase in our story.
 
We are looking for an engineer keen to explore a career working in the exciting and challenging semiconductor industry. The ideal candidate would be an open-minded, collaborative programmer, excited to hone their craft, hungry to drive continuous improvement, eager to apply the math, digital/analog circuit theory they’ve learned in school to help improve our Systems Model using modern best practises. Ultimately, this team effort will allow Alphawave to innovate faster connectivity IP for our customers in datacenters, AI chip connectivity, and beyond!
 
What You’ ll Do: 
  1. Performance engineer MATLAB System Model: improve speed, memory footprint, code cleanliness, and programming interface.
  2. Collaborate with the team to explore best practises for rapid development.
  3. Develop and maintain systems regression environment including performance stress tests.
  4. Improve development methodology to support ongoing alignment of MATLAB model with ASIC and Lab correlation.
  5. Develop MATLAB modeling updates to enable new architectures and circuits.
  6. Document methodology improvements and share concepts on a regular basis.
             
What You’ll Need: 
  1. Candidate for Bachelor of Applied Science, Computer / Electrical Engineering, or similar program
  2. Ability to work in Linux environment is required.
  3. Ability to work collaboratively in a team programming environment, with revision control, is required.
  4. Strong programming experience is required, Perl/Python and MATLAB is highly desired, C/C++ is an asset.
  5. Theoretical understanding of DSP signal processing and communication system fundamentals is an asset.
  6. Digital design experience with RTL and FPGAs is an asset.
  7. Analog design experience and PLL clocking architecture would be an asset.
  8. Direct experience with embedded firmware development and Assembler is an asset.
