The Position:
Environment Canada is looking for a student to join the Corporate Services and Finance Branch – Business Applications and Solutions Directorate as a Web Applications Developer. This co-op position will allow you to use your technical knowledge, strong communication and problem solving skills and desire to learn to work on projects that have a real-life impact on our environment.

Through this position, you will become an integral part of our team by playing a key role alongside our team members in taking projects through the different stages of the development life cycle.

Job Requirements: Essential Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in a Computer Science/Engineering program
- Experience in one or more of the following: ASP.NET, C#, Javascript, SQL or other web technologies
- Knowledge of software design fundamentals and Object-Oriented Principles
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Demonstrated team player
- Able to pass routine security check (prior to offer being made)

Asset Qualifications:
- Interest or experience and knowledge of incorporating design principles into web application development.
- Ability to communicate with project/technical leads to clarify requirements.
- Knowledge of relational databases and nosql databases
- Knowledge of serverless computing, service oriented architecture
- Experience using a cloud platform to deploy web applications
- Experience working in a collaborative setting
