Job Description: Main Objectives / Basic Function:
Provide developments of desktop applications and web/client solutions as assigned. Developments will primarily occur under the Microsoft stack of technologies (C#, VS, ASPX, IIS, HTML, SQL DB) and client side technologies (Ajax, JavaScript)

Solution Development:
  • Web applications using Visual Studio, C#/.NET/ASP
  • SharePoint 2010/2019 with Nintext workflows
  • Development in MS Office 2016 platform (Word, Access, Excel)
  • M365 development (PowerApps)
  • Database management, SQL, administration
  • Report Development (Power BI)

Maintain and change existing Solutions:
  • Maintain and/or improve existing software programs and execute change requests.
  • Design and update databases
  • Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary
  • Upgrade existing web/db applications to new standards.

Support:
  • Provide 2nd & 3rd level support for solution issues as required.
  • Develop scripts to automate repetitive daily administrations tasks and customized scripts for resolving incidents and problems to prevent recurrence

Participate in IS Projects:
  • Implementing development tasks as assigned by the IS project lead
  • Working with the IS project lead to resolve project challenges and roadbloacks
  • Preparing presentations, trainings or hand-over documentation to support the project transition into production.

Work Experience: No real-world work experience required. But experience aquired from schooling or part-time is required; experience gained from major project for courses are an asset.
 
Specialized Knowledge: We are looking to bring someone in that is studying in the IT field of Computer Science that can demonstrate the following areas:
- Experience in web and software development. Including development for SharePoint 2010/2019.
- Knowledge of web technologies, such as HTML, CSS & JavaScript.
- Knowledge of programming using VB.Net and C# in MS Visual Studio, web site development
- Knowledge of database design, SQL, SQL Server administration, SSIS, SSRS
- Knowledge of development in MS Office 2016 platform using Excel, Access, VBA
- Understanding of IS project methodology from the perspective of both client and business.
- MS PowerShell or other scripting languages
- Experience with source code management, git / gitlab
 
Communication Skills
            Internal: Good communication skills required for interactions with target audiences from end users to IS Management.
            External: Good communications skills required for interaction with other IS personel at other SLS sites. French language is an asset, but not mandatory.
