The Role:

Software Developers do more than just product development! At ecobee, the Site Reliability Engineering team takes a software development approach to what was traditionally called “IT” or “Operations”. Our team is responsible for all the server infrastructure for our products: physical hardware and on cloud platforms like AWS and GCP.

Our aim is to imbue SRE principles throughout the organization through hands-on work like contributing directly to the code base, guiding services to production readiness, and building common tooling for all of engineering. We are all curious folks and strive to be constantly learning!

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer Co-op to join our team for a 2024-2025 PEY term.

How You’ll Make an Impact:
  • You will use your software development skills to solve challenges in performance measurement and tuning, software scalability, reliability, and security.
  • You will use cutting-edge tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, Prometheus, Ansible, Packer, Docker (the list goes on…) to automate infrastructure
  • Your Linux skills, network knowledge and fundamental security skills help ecobee to deliver superior customer experiences and products.
Job Requirements: What You Bring to the Table:
- A current Computer Science, Software, Computer or Electrical Engineering student.

- Experienced with using Linux systems
- As someone who likes to fully understand the problem at hand you will investigate the root cause of complex problems naturally and solve them so that our users have a better experience
- Just so you know: the hired candidate will be required to complete a background check.

We’re up to incredible things. Come and be part of them.
