The Engineering Intern role provides students with the opportunities to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment and to support/promote the students’ career goals through contacts with professionals in their fields of study. The internship experience enables students to participate in professional activities for Veoneer by working on important and innovative projects. Our internships are structured learning experiences where interns and our full-time professionals work together on projects across functional departments. The internship assignments allow students to integrate knowledge and practical experience in manners that are mutually beneficial to the students and Veoneer.
 
What you’ll do
  • Lead and implement various projects for quality improvements and/or cost reductions
  • Participate in failure analysis and problem-solving activities with cross functional teams to resolve quality issues
  • Generate, collect, analyze, and report manufacturing data to support plant quality activities
  • Research, develop, and implement custom software/hardware solutions for manufacturing process optimization and standardization
  • Maintain and improve existing software application and database used for daily operation by utilizing any applicable computer programming languages (e.g. C++/C#, VB, Java, etc.)
  • Manage Workflow automation using MS SharePoint, Power Automate, Web API and others applicable automation tools
  • Develop process standard documentation and operator work instructions
Other duties may include:
  • Document technical work instructions and provide training to users for various applications and procedures
  • Perform failure analysis on electronic products using various bench test equipment
  • Collaborate with integrators and vendors for manufacturing needs
  • Provide engineering support and assistance for quality functions as required
Job Requirements: Qualifications:
  • Preferred Engineering Discipline: Electrical / Computer / Mechatronics / Mechanical
  • Solid programming skills in high level language are required (e.g. C++/C#)
  • Intermediate to advanced level of knowledge of Excel or other data processing application would an asset 
  • Ideal candidate must have good interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving skills and mindset
  • Strong work ethic, communication skills and ability to manage deadlines
  • Capable of self-learning and generating own tasks
  • To be considered, students must have a minimum, overall GRADE AVERAGE OF "B"
