We invite you to be part of our evolution. Our Team Our Sudbury Operations have been in existence for more than 100 years. With five mines, a mill, a smelter, a refinery and nearly 4,000 employees it is also one of the largest integrated mining complexes in the world. The Port Colborne Refinery was also commissioned 100 years ago on the shore of Lake Erie. Raw materials and finished products from Vale’s Sudbury and Newfoundland and Labrador operations are transported to Port Colborne for processing. The Mines Technical Services (MTS) team is responsible for maintaining a variety of functions including mine planning, scheduling, surveying, backfill, ventilation, ground control, geology metrics tracking, production statistics data input/review, incentives administration, annual capital plan development, and operating and capital cost tracking for variances. The Opportunity We are currently seeking Mining Engineering Co-ops Students to join our Mines Technical Services Department at our Coleman, CCM, Creighton, Garson, and Totten Mines in our Sudbury Operations. This is a fixed-term position for a duration of 8 – 12 months, beginning in January 2024 or May 2024. Please be clear in your application which start date you are looking for. |

About You The successful candidate engineering students will undertake the duties required to assist the overall engineering planning, design & ventilation design for our Mines Technical Services Department. Although previous experience in mining or an industrial setting is considered an asset, we also appreciate that diversity of thought comes from our differences – and that’s what makes us great! Education: Currently enrolled and in good standing in a Mining Co-operative Engineering program Experience: Experience in an industrial environment would be considered an asset Skills:
