Signal 1 is on a mission to transform hospital care with AI. Formed out of a partnership between Layer 6, a world-leading applied AI company, and Unity Health Toronto, a hospital network in Ontario, Signal 1 provides hospitals with an end-to-end clinical AI solution. We have a secure cloud-based platform that ingests patient data, applies real-time AI models, and delivers them directly into clinical workflows. Our platform is built on a proprietary technology stack which provides superior model performance, model explainability tools and a real-time model monitoring capability. All of Signal 1's models are developed in close collaboration with clinicians. We are looking for a PEY Intern to join our Machine Learning Team. You will: ● Join a world-class team of machine learning engineers and scientists with an extensive track record in both academia and industry. ● Apply machine learning techniques to real-life datasets and gain understanding of production environments in a healthcare domain. ● Work with enterprise level ML production code and run machine learning tests and experiments to further advance our industry leading product. ● Collaborate closely with the engineering team in a fast paced startup environment and see your model deployed in production with a very short turnaround. ● Help deliver insights that have a real impact on patients. ● Other duties as assigned. |

Required Qualifications: ● Understanding of data structures, data modeling and software architecture ● Ability to write robust code in Java and Python ● Good knowledge of math, probability, statistics, algorithms and ML Preferred Qualifications: ● Experience developing and deploying ML models ● Familiarity with explainability frameworks |
