Job Description: Groq is a machine learning hardware company building easy-to-use solutions for accelerating artificial intelligence workloads.  We are creating a next-generation chip hardware for accelerating machine learning that leads the industry in ease of use, performance and power. We are seeking bright and energetic co-op students excited about machine learning and ASIC physical design. You will be working with a team of world class engineers, creating the building blocks which go into building the next generation Groq chip at leading edge technology.
This position will focus on Physical Design Methodology Development. Through this work term, the successful candidate will be part of the Hardware engineering team and gain a detailed understanding of how Groq's unique chip architecture is physically implemented.
 
Job Requirements: DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 
You will work within our Physical Design team.
Responsible for running and maintaining the Logical Equivalence Check flow between RTL and Netlist. 
Build methodology to automate checks and metric reporting from synthesis, floorplan and place & route runs from regression. 
Build scripts for enhanced data mining and data visualization.
Contribute to methodology development to improve Power/Performance/Area
Collaborate with Infra/CAD team to debug and enhance the Physical Design Flows

QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to read & understand system-verilog or verilog design language
Understanding of Synthesis and Place n Route flow (Cadence Genus/Innovus or Synopsys Fusion Compiler) a plus. 
Experience in Scripting languages: TCL, Python, Perl.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
