General Summary 

We are searching for an AI and DSP Applications Software Engineer to be a part of the the AI Processor team that is responsible for the design and integration of leading-edge technologies in the area of image post processing, 360 Video, virtual reality, computational imaging, machine learning, deep convolution networks, computer vision, drones, IoT, driverless cars and many more.  

We are looking for a motivated and self-driven engineer who will develop and test various real-time image analytics and processing applications on the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform, focusing on post-processing for video playback, gaming, and camera. The candidate should be able to work with multiple teams to determine and understand requirements and resolve technical issues. The candidate will also be responsible for supporting customers (internal as well as external).  

The candidate should be able to read abstract problem definitions, define problem statements, design and ensure that goals of our end users and technology are met. The candidate is expected to follow strong SW development practices and processes. 

Key Responsibilities 
  • Develop processing frameworks in Android HLOS to use AI accelerators for video and graphics 
  • Test and validate algorithms for image quality, performance, and power 
  • Collaborate across functional boundaries in defining architecture, APIs, design 
  • Explore opportunities outside of mobile, including Automotive, IoT, etc. 
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications  
  • Strong knowledge of C/C++ 
  • Knowledge of software development principles and practices, OOP concepts 
  • Working knowledge of embedded development 
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills 

Preferred Qualifications  
  • Knowledge of Python 
  • Experience with Linux development 
  • Real-time software development concepts 
  • Understanding of Android Native/HAL a plus 
  • Knowledge of high performance computing 
  • Familiar with computer/hardware architecture 
  • Experience working in a development team, using collaboration toolsets that include source control, code review, and continuous integration/continuous deployment 
  • Basic understanding of Machine learning, Computer vision, and Digital image processing is a bonus
