Location
Markham, Ontario
 
We are hiring for multiple co-op/intern positions that vary between on-site and hybrid. Students will be required to work in the office on a schedule based on the team’s requirements.
 
Program Term
12-month position from May 6, 2024 – April 25, 2025
 
The Role
The Diagnostics team is responsible for developing tests and test suites that exercise and validate the hardware blocks in the graphics chips designed at AMD. You will support our diagnostics development team, where you’ll gain an understanding of AMD’s GPU hardware blocks.
 
What you’ll be doing
Design and verify diagnostics tests
Identify and troubleshoot hardware and software problems
Identify opportunities to improve test time and effectiveness of tests
Support and resolve customer issues
Assist in ASIC bring-up and support activities
Development and debug of automation tools/scripts

What you’ll learn
You may gain the following experience 
GPU diagnostics features, including coding, debugging, verification, validation, etc.
Visibility to lifecycle of chip development
Increase technical abilities in diagnostics
Industry exclusive design experience
Teamwork
Job Requirements: Key Qualifications
3rd year student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field/discipline 
Returning to school following the co-op term
Written and verbal communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications
Please have knowledge in one or more of the following skills:
Basic knowledge and experience in software programming (C++, scripting)
Familiarity with PC and CPU architectures
Experience with software development and debugging in Linux
Source control systems (git, svn, etc.)
