This student position is open to University of Toronto students who have completed at least 3 years of their program. This student will work on Telecommunication Fibre Broadband and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) projects. Candidates will be part of projects related to the application of technology in various industry, which may include fibre design, fibre asset management and communication systems design.   Join us if you are interested in working with Canadian, US and international (Europe, Asia and South Africa) clients. Join us if you’re interested in a chance to work with agencies like the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO), Metrolinx, Durham Region, York Region and other private and public agencies across Canada. Join us if you’re interested in a mix of small, short term projects, as well as large, complex projects.      Responsibilities: •Research technology solutions for telecommunication systems, information and communication systems •Develop functional requirements/specifications and procurement process documents •Design telecommunication systems, information and communication systems •Prepare schedules and cost estimates •Participate in field inspections and acceptance testing, including advance review of proposed test procedures •Support business development and proposal initiatives •Potential travel to client sites (if applicable) •Coordinate with stakeholders (if applicable)
Job Requirements:	• Candidates must be enrolled in Engineering program • Candidates must have demonstrable above average oral and written communications skills • Able to work effectively independently and on a team • AutoCAD and MS Visio are useful skills, but not a requirement • Experience working with GIS is considered an asset, but not a requirement • Valid Ontario Driver's license is an asset, but not a requirement • Preferred candidates would have interest in a career in application of technology within the telecommunication and ICT industry
