Job Description: Air Canada is Canada’s largest full-service airline and the largest provider of scheduled passenger services in the Canadian market, the Canada – U.S. Transborder market and in the International market to and from Canada. Our mainline fleet consists of 10 different aircraft types, totaling over 180 aircraft. 
 
The Business Insights Analyst primarily supports the Operations IntelligenceTeam in the reporting and analysis of operational and customer related data.  The position includes data mining, reporting, statistical modelling and forecasting for various operational and customer measures.
Job Requirements: -Programming and/or knowledge in: Data mining/programming tools (i.e. SQL, R, Python) or Data ingestion and visualization tools (PowerBI, Snowflake, DAX)
-Provide statistical and analytical expertise in support of Operational and Customer short-term and long-term data initiatives.
-Evaluate, innovate, and recommend approaches for the improvement of current data processes including mathematical and statistical solutions.
-Develop, implement, and maintain statistical models.
-Analyze data, identify trends, produce statistical reports/visualizations.
-Present findings to appropriate business units and cross-functional teams.
-Design and program queries for extracting information and metrics from data stored in various databases.
-Automate current processes and reporting where data is involved.
-Design, program, automate, and maintain ad-hoc databases and queries, dashboards, KPIs, scorecards, reports.
-Provide supporting data and analysis for business case development for various improvement initiatives.
-Utilize analysis best practices to evaluate business issues.
-Develop Operational reporting applications to better understand operational pain points
-Resolve data integrity and accuracy issues through assessment and evaluation and propose strategies to reduce reoccurrence
-Interface with external vendors as required in support of project or daily work
-Must be able to work well independently with minimal supervision and within a team environment
-Ability to prioritize and manage several concurrent assignments effectively
