Your Role and Responsibilities
This position resides in Markham, ON and is a 12 month work-term commencing in May 2024. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full time studies upon completion of the work-term.

As a backend software developer in Db2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows – an enterprise grade relational database software, you will be part of an agile development team in the Kernel area focusing on advancing our technology, collaborate with team members to build features that meets our customers’ needs. Depending on the task assigned, it may include opportunities to work with various opensource technologies in our database engine; implement automation in key public cloud vendors that includes the likes of IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure or GCP; refine, streamline, automate our security related processing; enhance resiliency in our product offering; or new technology evaluation.
Job Requirements: Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Major in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Knowledgeable in C/C++, perl, python, or other scripting languages
  • Working knowledge in Linux development environment
  • Independent problem solver, team player, good interpersonal skills
  • Must be eligible to work 12 months starting in May
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Working knowledge of Git, GitHub, Jenkins
  • Web programming
  • Understanding of database concepts
  • Registered in a formal co-op/internship program
